Reading with Becca

Following our day (ok, it was really only an hour, but it felt like forever...) Jackie, Harper, Rebecca, Nik, Brook, and Walker came over to our house to play a little more. Branson and Rebecca were reading a book. Well Branson was reading and Becca was having a difficult time reading because Branson kept saying "bad dog!" (appropriate given the book they were reading!)

Capital Gymnastics Play date

Since I was off work, I got to join Jackie and Rebecca along with the kids at their playdate. It was a lot of fun! I could sure get used to being a stay at home mom!! Here are some pics I took of all the kids while we were there.

Branson really enjoyed playing at Capital Gymnastics with his friends. What a gymnast we are raising!

Brooklynn climbing and sliding! Beautiful girl!

Branson and Walker are big buds!

The kids enjoyed running down the in ground trampoline mat...

Nik and Harper had fun on different apparatuses too!

Capital Gymnastics

Pictures of the playdate by Jackie.
Branson enjoyed attempting to walk on the balance beam... he actually has pretty good balance.

Pommel horse was more his thing though!

and of course... sliding is always fun!

Words...

Branson's vocabulary continues to grow and now includes two word phrases like Thank you and Bad Dog... I know poor dogs... if only they could learn to be good!

The other day I was sure that I heard Branson say to Liberty "Bad Dog" and shake his finger at her after she had done something he didn't like... I thought I imagined it, but then when he went over to Jackie's the other night she too heard him say it! Now he won't stop saying it.... Brandon and Branson read books often, but since Brandon doesn't really find kids books very entertaining, they have begun a game where Brandon turns the page and Branson points out the dogs and says "dog". My mom and I actually bought Branson a book a long time ago called Bad Dog Max... Branson now looks through that book and finds the "bad dog". It is funny!

On a happier, more polite note, Branson is getting very good at appropriately using Thank You. We are also working on Love you, but it is not quite recognizable.

Branson and Dawson

Branson and his cousin Dawson were able to play this weekend. Here are a couple of shots from Aunt CC.

Talent Search Update

Last night I went to the follow-up information meeting for the talent and model search... I couldn't believe that some of the people there had no idea that it was going to cost any money!!! We did learn that 176 kids came to the open call that Sunday and only 80 were invited back! The information they presented was very good, and it wasn't as expensive as I anticipated, but at this time in our lives it just isn't a good time to put the money and time into it. Branson is at that awkward age where he is too old and stubborn to just be content hanging out and too young to follow directions. I think we would end up with many unnecessary battles of will. Maybe as he gets older it will be worth looking into again. So... our adventure into stardom ends here! :)

Eating!

Branson is really perfecting the art of using a spoon! He was eating peas and hot dogs with his spoon very well... at least that was until I got the video camera out...

A new ride!

While shopping at Cabellas we found this totally awesome motorized fourwheeler that we just had to have! Branson learned over the weekend how to push buttons to make things work, so this was right up his alley! Although he didn't totally understand the concept of holding the button down to make it move continously, he will get it soon enough!

Cabellas

On the way home from San Antonio this weekend, we decided to swing by Cabellas as I had never been there before. Brandon said that Branson really enjoyed himself last time so we thought we would make a day of it... at the beginning, Branson was having a hard time letting his daddy shop for fishing supplies (ok, I was having a hard time being excited about it too!) so Branson and I went off exploring and here is what he found to do!

More Cabella Pics

We enjoyed looking at the animals while we were there!
Branson kept trying to figure out how to use the pop gun, but really only wanted
to pull the orange cap off.

He also liked sitting on different things throughout the store... it was a boys'
toystore!
